PSSI Referee Committee Chairman Yoshimi Ogawa is confident that the referees officiating Super League matches will perform well to ensure the games run fairly and orderly.
The Super League, which has a new name after previously being known as Liga 1, will begin this Friday with the opening match between Persebaya Surabaya and PSIM Yogyakarta at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium at 7:00 PM WIB.
"Now I have confidence in them. They will perform well," Ogawa told reporters after leading a refereeing workshop at the GBK Arena.
The Japanese man added that during the implementation, the referees leading the match might still make mistakes because they are only human.
Therefore, he said, referees also need cooperation from clubs and players to ensure the match runs smoothly.
