AirPods Pro 3 translator feature availability delayed in the European Union

One of the flagship features of Apple's AirPods Pro 3 is the ability to translate audio directly, but this feature is not yet available to users in the European Union at the initial launch.

Apple on its page containing details of iOS 26 features stated that users with an EU Apple ID cannot yet access the live translation feature powered by Apple Intelligence.

Apple explained that the delay in the availability of the feature was related to fulfilling interoperability requirements under the Digital Markets Act ( DMA ) which applies in the European Union.

However, the technology company stated that other legal requirements regarding user data protection were not a contributing factor to the delay.

Previously, Apple had to delay the availability of several artificial intelligence features in the European Union due to the DMA. Users in the region will only be able to access some artificial intelligence features until March 2025.
