Carlos Alcaraz continued his run at the US Open with a brilliant performance in the quarterfinals eliminating Jiri Lehecka to remain in contention for the hardcourt major title.
The 22-year-old Spaniard battled hard for a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 victory to reach the semifinals in New York without dropping a set. However, he admitted he didn't rewatch the match, which featured a stunning shot.
"I don't rewatch it, but sometimes when I go to the living room, my little brothers watch my best clips, so I just sit and watch them," Alcaraz said with a smile in his post-match press conference, as broadcast by the ATP.
"Every time I rewatch my shots, it reminds me of the match."
However, the dominant score over Lehecka did not fully reflect the intensity of their duel.
