Hundreds of Tunisians gathered at the port of Sidi Bou Said in the capital, Tunis, awaiting the arrival of ships arriving from Spain.
Wael Nawar, a member of the Maghreb Resilience Fleet's steering committee, said, "Ships carrying participants in the Global Resilience Fleet, departing from Spain, have begun entering Tunisian borders (territorial waters)." He explained that it will take about two days for all ships to arrive from Spain.
Nawar indicated that the journey will resume next Wednesday from Tunisia, where local ships will join the flotilla. He added, "At sea near Italy, we will continue on to Gaza with other ships that will join from there."
Since September 1, approximately 150 activists, including dozens of Turks and other nationalities, as well as Tunisians, have been preparing to join the Global Resilience Fleet.
At the end of last August, the 22 ships of the Global Resilience Flotilla set sail from the Spanish port of Barcelona, followed by another convoy at dawn last Monday from the port of Genoa in northwestern Italy.

These ships are expected to join a third convoy departing from Tunisia on Wednesday, after having been scheduled for Sunday for logistical and technical reasons. The convoy will then continue its journey to Gaza, aiming to break the Israeli blockade.
The flotilla consists of the Freedom Flotilla Union, the Global Gaza Movement, the Steadfastness Flotilla, and the Malaysian "Sumud Nusantara" organization.
