This came in a statement issued by the ministerial committee tasked by the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit regarding developments in the Gaza Strip. The committee comprises 23 countries, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
These countries are: Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Nigeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Chad, Djibouti, Gambia, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, Sultanate of Oman, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
The committee said: "We categorically reject the statements issued by Israel regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land occupied since 1967 under any pretext or name."
On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with the Hebrew-language Abu Ali Express channel on Telegram that "half the population wants to leave Gaza," claiming that "this is not a mass expulsion." He continued, "I can open the Rafah crossing for them, but it will be immediately closed by Egypt," claiming that "the right to leave Gaza is a fundamental right for every Palestinian."
In response to Netanyahu's remarks, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement on Friday that it "will never be a partner in liquidating the Palestinian cause or become a gateway for displacement, and that this remains an unchangeable red line."
