Earlier today, a high-level delegation from Turkey's Justice and Development Party (AKP) met with the Foreign Relations Committees of the Egyptian Senate and House of Representatives. The meeting marked the start of a visit the Turkish delegation is conducting to the Rafah crossing on Monday, reaffirming Türkiye's principled stance against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The delegation also included Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives Karim Darwish. They then met with Chairman of the Foreign, Arab and African Affairs Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hazem Soliman Omar.

During the meetings, the Turkish delegation discussed with Egyptian officials developments related to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The Israeli genocide left 64,522 Palestinians martyred, 163,096 wounded, most of them children and women, more than 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that claimed the lives of 393 Palestinians, including 140 children.
