Tijuana, April 30. Dozens of children took over Revolución Avenue to celebrate their day at an event organized by the Tijuana City Council.
Attendees enjoyed a wrestling match, rode a mechanical bull, and participated in fun contests to win prizes.
Mayor Ismael Burgueño reported that similar events are held in all boroughs so that children can spend time with their families and receive gifts.
He noted that on this day, the children had the opportunity to go into a tent where there were around 2,500 gifts for them to choose from .
The mayor took advantage of the celebration to reminisce about his childhood , a time when he was already interested in politics and dreamed of reaching the position he holds today.
"I never gave up on that dream since I was a child because one day someone told me that the only one who could stop my dreams was me . I adopted that phrase, made it my own, and today I share it with children," he said.
