Bandung City Police deployed 2,000 personnel to secure the Persib vs. Lion City match.

The Bandung City Police deployed 2,000 personnel to secure the AFC Champions League (ACL) II Group G match between Persib and Lion City Sailors at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium.

Head of the Bandung City Police Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas), AKBP Wahyu Prishta Utama, said that his party had coordinated with relevant agencies regarding the match's running mechanism so that security would run smoothly.

"So, our security will be more focused on securing the team's travel, their accommodation, and the matches at GBLA Stadium," Wahyu said when confirmed in Bandung.

Wahyu said there are three checkpoints that will be implemented to filter spectators who will enter the stadium area, namely at Babakan Sayang, Rancanumpang, and Cimencerang.

Next, the spectators were invited to enter the stadium area and were checked again when entering the stands to anticipate unwanted things during the match.

"We will conduct searches and check ticket wristbands. We will identify spectators who do not comply with the rules, do not have the wristbands, or are found with prohibited items," he said.

He appealed to Bobotoh and all supporters not to bring dangerous items, especially flares.

In addition to flares, police will also confiscate other prohibited items such as alcoholic beverages and sharp weapons that could disrupt match security.

"Because this is a competition involving foreign countries. It's like the AFF Cup, the inter-Asian league championship, which is an international competition, and it's subject to FIFA regulations," he said.

Although the number of visiting team supporters is not expected to be large, special security measures are still being prepared.

In addition, the police also engineered traffic flow in the area leading to the GBLA Stadium so that spectators and tourists heading to the Al Jabbar Mosque could be dispersed.

"We will also sterilize the area along Jalan Gedebage to ensure the area around the stadium is free from vehicles, considering that trains pass every 15-20 minutes," he said.

He said that personnel had been deployed since 13.00 WIB to conduct initial screening at these points before supporters were directed to the stadium entrance.
