Tijuana, June 10. The construction work being carried out by the company Good View Internacional on the coast of Ensenada for striped bass farming is affecting the breaks known as Tres Emes—along with San Miguel and Todos Santos—a world surfing reserve in Todos Santos Bay and one of the most historically popular spots for surfers, according to environmental organizations in Baja California.
"The Tres Emes surf is a non-renewable resource. The quality of the wave depends on the current configuration of the coastline," said Fernando Marvan, surfer, oceanologist, and member of the Surf Ens association.
He noted that the work being carried out by Good View International to cultivate this species has impacted the cliff and the coastal ecosystem, which could affect the morphology, safety of users, and behavior of the waves. If this is affected, the sporting and recreational performance of surfers will be devastating.
