Mexicali, November 25.- The Baja California Health Secretariat announced that in recent hours, 621 confirmed cases and a total of 35 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the state.
Regarding deaths, 11 occurred in Mexicali, one in San Felipe, 19 in Tijuana, two in Ensenada, one in Tecate, and one in San Quintín. Regarding confirmed COVID-19 cases, 48 are in Mexicali, 16 in San Felipe, 260 in Tijuana, 10 in Tecate, 15 in Rosarito, 60 in Ensenada, and 12 in San Quintín.
In the case of patients hospitalized with Covid-19, the Ministry of Health has a hospital occupancy rate of 54.20 percent, and the IMSS has a rate of 58.71 percent.
Baja California has a total of 2,818 active cases, of which 1,284 are from Mexicali, 861 from Tijuana, 394 from Ensenada, 77 from Rosarito, 106 from Tecate, 77 from San Quintín, and 19 from San Felipe.
In addition, it is reported that in the entity there is a cumulative total of 78,459 cases, of which 30,129 are from Mexicali, 28,219 from Tijuana, 11,442 from Ensenada, 3,153 from San Quintín, 2,516 from Tecate, 2,046 from Rosarito and 954 from San Felipe.
The total number of deaths has reached 10,097; 3,638 in Mexicali, 4,624 in Tijuana, 1,406 in Ensenada, 211 in Tecate, 169 in San Quintín, 36 in Rosarito, and 13 in San Felipe.
Social distancing is crucial during the holiday season.
Baja California's Secretary of Health, Adrián Medina Amarillas, emphasized that it will be crucial to individually reconsider the mobility of each family, since during celebrations such as Thanksgiving and the December holidays, preventive measures such as the use of face masks, social distancing of 1.5 meters, and constant handwashing must be reinforced.
"We must be aware that at family or friend gatherings, we tend to relax health measures, a situation that makes us vulnerable, and we must continue to take care of ourselves," he commented.
