Be aware of early symptoms of PCOS in women who have not yet menstruated.

Consultant Gynecologist and obstetrician and infertility specialist at AIMS Dombivli Hospital, India, Dr. Deepali Lodh, reminded women to be aware of early warning signs of Polycytic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which can appear before the first menstruation.

Quoted from the Hindustan Times, Wednesday, Lodh explained that PCOS is a hormonal disorder that appears in women who have already experienced menstruation, but signs of this condition can appear before a woman experiences menstruation for the first time.

"Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal condition that usually only becomes apparent after a girl begins menstruating. However, according to various studies, early signs can also appear before the first period, often in late childhood or early puberty," she said.

Adopting a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, and medical intervention can be effective in managing PCOS. However, early detection of PCOS symptoms is crucial. Lodh outlined several signs of PCOS that parents should be aware of in their daughters.
