Greek authorities confirmed that they would ensure the flotilla's safe sailing off its coast. Organizers said they plan to arrive in Gaza early next week.
In response, Israel said it would not allow the flotilla to pass, warning of "consequences" and calling for humanitarian aid to be delivered through it, allegedly to the besieged Gaza Strip.
On Wednesday, the Steadfastness Flotilla announced that 12 explosions occurred on nine of its ships, as a result of being targeted by Israeli drones.
For days, approximately 50 ships as part of the "Resilience Fleet" have been sailing toward the Gaza Strip, carrying humanitarian aid, particularly medical supplies, and carrying more than 500 civilian activists.
This is the first time such a large number of ships have sailed together toward the Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians and under Israeli siege for 18 years.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 65,502 martyrs and 167,376 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
