In a post on the X platform on Tuesday, Duran affirmed that these attacks add a new chapter to the record of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, amid international silence.
"The attacks that have killed thousands of Palestinians and forcibly displaced hundreds of thousands have turned the humanitarian tragedy into an unbearable level," he said, stressing that the international community no longer has any justification for remaining silent or inactive.
In this regard, Duran called on the UN Security Council and other relevant international mechanisms to take immediate action to cease fire and hold Israel accountable under international law.
The head of the Communications Department indicated that Turkey, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will never accept the normalization of this injustice, nor will it see any legitimacy in it, and will continue to support all efforts aimed at holding Israel accountable for its crimes.
In response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements against the Turkish president, Duran said, "Netanyahu, who is being tried before international courts for his crimes and condemned by the conscience of humanity for the tragedy he caused, has no value, nor do his words about the city of Jerusalem, which is considered the common heritage of humanity."
He added, "Jerusalem, throughout history, has never been humiliated by invaders or colonial powers. Whoever oppressed its people and attacked its mosques and churches ended up as a curse in the pages of history. It is the city that witnessed the defeats of tyrants and arrogant people who believed they could control it."
Duran concluded by emphasizing Turkey's commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, saying, "We will never accept that the sanctity of Jerusalem be overshadowed by the occupation's policies. We will continue our full support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent, sovereign state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
