The 2025/2026 English League Cup will play its third round in midweek, featuring 12 matches.
Of the 12 matches, one of the most interesting matches to watch is the match between Liverpool and Southampton at Anfield.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed he will rotate his players in the upcoming match, but this is not expected to significantly affect the Reds' strength.
The Reds, who won the Premier League last season and currently top the table, have a good record against the Saints. In their last 10 meetings, they have lost only once to Southampton, with the other eight matches ending in victory. That lone defeat came in January 2021, when they lost 0-1 at St Mary's Stadium thanks to a Danny Ings goal.

On Wednesday, before the match between Liverpool and Southampton, there is a match between Chelsea and Lincoln City at 01.45 WIB at LNER Stadium.
The following day, Thursday (25/9), four Premier League teams will play in this tournament, namely Manchester City against Huddersfield Town at John Smith's Stadium at 01.45 WIB, Newcastle United against Bradford City at St. James' Park at 01.45 WIB, Tottenham Hotspur against Doncaster Rovers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 01.45 WIB, and Arsenal against Port Vale at Vale Park at 02.00 WIB.
