The Chairman of the All Indonesia Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir, has asked PSSI Technical Director Alexander Zwiers to conduct a comprehensive evaluation after the Indonesian U-23 National Team failed to qualify for the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup.
"I think we lost with honor. I will ask the technical director to review everything, not just today's result but also future preparations," Erick said when met by reporters after the final Group J match of the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers at Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo on Tuesday night.
Despite this, he appreciated Gerald Vanenburg's team for trying to play well with various formations, from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2 against South Korea (Korsel), but the final result was still not as expected.
He believes that losing 0-1 is the best result the Garuda Muda squad has achieved so far, even though it is not a good thing.
