Explosions heard, drones hover over Gaza-bound steadfastness flotilla

The Global Resilience Fleet said in a statement that "several drones shot down unidentified objects, communications were disrupted, and explosions were heard from a number of boats."

Earlier, a drone dropped a substance with the smell of gunpowder onto a ship, without causing any casualties.

On Sunday, the Maghreb Steadfastness Flotilla announced a heightened security alert after three unidentified drones were spotted hovering over the Mali/Deir Yassin ship.

The Maghreb Steadfastness Flotilla previously announced that two Israeli drones targeted two ships in the port of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia in two separate attacks, while Tel Aviv remained silent.

Erdogan meets Guterres and calls for increased pressure on Israel to ensure aid reaches Gaza.

This is the first time such a large number of ships have sailed together toward the Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians and under Israeli siege for 18 years.

Israel, the occupying power in the Palestinian territories, has previously engaged in piracy against individual ships sailing toward Gaza, seizing them and deporting the activists on board.

Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, preventing the entry of any food or humanitarian aid. This has plunged the Strip into famine, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders.

Israel sometimes allows very limited aid into the Strip, which fails to meet the minimum needs of the starving population and does not end the famine, especially given that most trucks are subject to robbery by gangs that the "Gaza government" claims Israel protects.
