The organizers said in a statement that the attack occurred late Tuesday night , with "several drones shooting down unknown objects," communications being "jammed," and "explosions" being heard from several boats.
German human rights activist Yasemin Akar confirmed that at least five ships from the flotilla were attacked, noting that "between 15 and 16 drones" were spotted in the airspace.
The fleet posted a video on its official page showing an explosion it said occurred near the Spectre ship at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries or damage were reported, according to the statement.
"We have no weapons, we pose no threat to anyone, we are only carrying humanitarian aid," Akar said in a video message on Instagram.
The "Resilience Fleet" had set sail earlier this month from Barcelona, Spain, and was subjected to two similar drone attacks while stationed off the Tunisian coast.
The fleet consists of 51 ships and includes activists from 45 countries, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
Despite these efforts, Israel reiterated its refusal to allow the flotilla to reach Gaza, suggesting the organizers head to the port of Ashkelon, north of the Strip, instead. Israeli authorities had previously blocked two similar attempts in June and July .

Israel has been blockading the Gaza Strip for 18 years, leaving approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out of a population of approximately 2.4 million in the Strip homeless after their homes were destroyed by the war of extermination.
Since March 2, the blockade has been tightened by closing all crossings into Gaza, preventing any food, medical treatment, or humanitarian aid from entering the Strip. This has plunged the Strip into famine, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders.
Israel sometimes allows the entry of very limited quantities of aid that fail to meet the minimum needs of the starving and do not end the famine, especially since most trucks are robbed by gangs that the Gaza government claims Israel protects.
For days, dozens of ships, including Maghrebi ships, have been sailing as part of the "Resilience Fleet" to break the blockade and deliver humanitarian aid, particularly medical supplies, to the Gaza Strip.
