PT Hutama Karya recorded that 415,637 vehicles passed through the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) during the long holiday period for the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday from September 4 to 7, 2025.

"This number increased by 16.21 percent compared to normal traffic," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim, in Padang, West Sumatra (Sumbar), Wednesday.

Adjib said peak traffic volume occurred on Sunday (September 7), with a total of 119,397 vehicles passing through, or 27.23 percent higher than normal. The highest traffic occurred on the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, with a total of 65,867 vehicles.

The increase in traffic on the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road was due to large crowds attending mass religious gatherings commemorating the Prophet's birthday in several areas, particularly Dumai City, as well as increased tourist visits to popular destinations in Dumai and Bengkalis.

"Meanwhile, the Padang-Sicincin toll road recorded the highest increase, up 73.76 percent compared to normal traffic," he added.

Similar to the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, the increase in mobility on the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road was also due to the celebration of the Prophet's Birthday, as well as the large number of people visiting tourist attractions around Padang City and Bukittinggi City.

During the long holiday period for the Prophet's Birthday, all JTTS services ran smoothly. The company has taken several preparatory measures, from preparing its traffic service fleet and personnel in the field to intensive coordination with the police, transportation agencies, and other relevant parties.
