Newcastle United confirmed their readiness to face Barcelona in their Champions League group stage opener at St James' Park.
Coach Eddie Howe said his team was ready to play a magical match at home against the Spanish champions.
"It's a historic match. As soon as we found out we were going to face Barcelona, there was a certain magic to it. I think it's going to be an incredible game to experience," Howe said in a pre-match press conference, as quoted on the club's official website on Thursday.
Howe added that the team's preparations had focused on tactical aspects to ensure the best performance in front of their home fans.
“I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere in the stadium, it's going to be an incredible experience,” he said.
