Tijuana, December 6, 2021.- From Friday to Sunday, a violent outbreak resulted in 17 murders , including a family executed with three children and their parents, and in another armed attack, a police officer was killed and another officer was injured.
Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez stated that, to counteract crime, her administration will be institutional and will join the state government's security strategy with the creation of the State Public Security Secretariat, which she said, "I hope will work."
“Unfortunately, on the security front, we're focused on containment and progress. However, once the initiative and the new program established by the governor are implemented, we'll join her strategy, and hopefully it will work. Let's remember that this initiative has already passed; we're institutional, and we'll continue to follow this security plan to see if it works,” he reiterated.
Last Friday, at around 8:00 p.m., an entire family was executed, consisting of three minors ages 3, 5, and 10, and two adults, at a home on De La Luna Street in the Nueva Aurora neighborhood of the San Antonio de los Buenos district. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.
