Mexico City, July 18.— Marcelo Ebrard emphasized that he is not leaving Morena, after reaffirming his rejection of the lottery that selected the four companies that will conduct the mirror surveys in the selection process for the coordinator of the defense committees of the fourth transformation. He also insisted that public resources and government structures are being used to benefit Claudia Sheinbaum.
In sending a message from the National Electoral Institute (INE) to the officials of the Ministry of Welfare who have engaged in these practices, he said that "Morena converted, elevated, and promoted these behaviors into a serious crime. We have to understand that this is not a game. It's serious business." He indicated that they are preparing "all the elements" to file charges against the head of the agency, Ariadna Montiel.
“The party already has 28 (complaints); they were given the file, all the evidence, against all those found responsible. I wouldn't dare do something like this if it weren't a reality. Wherever you ask, it's happening. This is due, we believe, to concern or the intention to influence a process, when the president himself has said, and I have complete confidence in him, that he will not allow that under any circumstances.”
The former foreign minister maintained that he will conclude Morena's internal process. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to leave Morena. Those who want me to leave are the ones who are losing. We're doing well. If they allow the people to decide freely on a ballot, I have no doubt we'll win the (national) poll."
Accompanied by representatives who will also file complaints against officials from the Ministries of Welfare and Public Education, as well as the Federal Consumer Protection Agency, who favor Sheinbaum, he emphasized that he decided not to sign the lottery certificate "until it is to the full satisfaction of all of us who participated."
He recalled that talks will continue today to "determine whether there is adequate representation."
