I'll be the "president of housing": Badiola; announces subsidy for low-income housing

Tijuana, May 8. Upon assuming the role of "housing president," Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, aspiring mayor of Tijuana for the Baja California Solidarity Encounter Party (PES BC), pledged to address the city's backlog of affordable housing, which he estimated at 140,000.

He said that among other actions his administration will promote, he will create a set of tax incentives so that low-income workers can receive a direct subsidy for home ownership, while also promoting the State Housing Program.

According to a press release, he announced that "upon his arrival at the Municipal Palace," he will set up a customer service desk to promote "true administrative simplification that allows developers to carry out their work with the speed required for bureaucratic response times."

The weightlifting candidate met with members of the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry (Canadevi), before whom he pledged to be a mayor "who truly drives Tijuana's economic growth."
