Mexico City, November 13.- During the first visit to Mexico by the United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED), from November 15 to 26, its experts will meet with federal and state authorities, as well as victims, attend exhumations, and visit prisons and detention centers .
Carmen Rosa Villa Quintana, head of the CED delegation , explained that direct dialogue with the State, civil society, and human rights institutions "is key" and indicated that by working together, they will be able to "identify ways to contribute to the eradication and prevention of forced disappearances in the country."
Meanwhile, on social media, Alejandro Encinas, Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population, and Migration of the Ministry of the Interior, emphasized that Mexico is the first country in the world the CED has visited and is open to international scrutiny. "Welcome to the UN-DH Committee on Enforced Disappearances," he stated.
The official stated that the first interview at the federal agency will be next Monday at 8:30 a.m.
