 The Indonesian women's national basketball team will face India in the semifinals of the FIBA ​​U-16 Women's Asia Cup 2025 Division B, after defeating Uzbekistan with a score of 77-52, in the semifinal match, at the Seremban Arena, Malaysia.

Indonesian women's U-16 national basketball team coach Marlina Herawan highlighted her opponent's strengths, which were superior in several aspects.

"India has several players whose size is superior to ours, but their squad is not very deep, so we will face them as a solid team," he said in an interview from Jakarta on Wednesday.

Regarding the victory against Uzbekistan, he fully appreciated the hard work of the players who performed solidly from the start of the match.

He stated that the players were solid in defense and had high spirits to win the match.

Meanwhile, Indonesia fell behind early in the first quarter through Munirakhon Khalikova's two-pointer. However, Garuda Pertiwi Muda responded through Fiorenza Celesta and Joanne Giovanni.

Joanne's three-pointer further boosted the team's confidence, leading them to a 17-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Indonesia's dominance continued in the second quarter. The Red and Whites added 24 points while Uzbekistan only managed 12. The score was 41-26 at halftime.

After halftime , Indonesia remained consistent, adding 16 points to Uzbekistan's 11. The third quarter ended with a score of 57-37 for Indonesia.

In the final quarter, disciplined play and teamwork among the players led Indonesia to score 20 points, while Uzbekistan added 15. The match ended with Indonesia winning 77-52.

Inez Angelina Welly became the top scorer for Indonesia with 23 points, three rebounds , and three assists .

Meanwhile, from Uzbekistan, Gulsevar Usmanova recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds and two assists .

This result led Indonesia to challenge India in the semifinals.

India advanced automatically to the semifinals as Group A winners, after sweeping victories against Iran, Uzbekistan and Samoa.

The team also has the advantage of recovery time because it last played on September 15.
