Instagram is reported to have three billion monthly active users by the end of September 2025, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
This could be considered a new milestone, four years after Instagram reportedly reached two billion monthly users in December 2021.
As reported by The Verge, Wednesday (24/9), Zuckerberg not only announced Instagram's achievements but also other platforms such as Facebook which reached more than three billion users in January 2025, and WhatsApp which reached a similar number of users in April 2025.
Meta did not specify whether this new achievement of Instagram includes users of the Threads application which was just released in July 2023 as a competitor to X which requires its users to register using an Instagram account.
