It becomes part of the Tijuana State Heritage Monument

Mexicali. For its historical, social, and cultural value, the "Monument to the Defenders of Baja California 1911" in the municipality of Tijuana was declared a Cultural Heritage Site of Baja California, following the publication of the executive decree in the official state gazette on Friday, April 14. This request was made to the Institute of Culture on June 22, 2021, by citizen Armando Fidel Ramos Hernández, and the Cultural Heritage Council, after analyzing all the documentation in the file, determined that there is sufficient historical, social, and cultural evidence for this property to be incorporated into the protection regime provided for by the Baja California Cultural Heritage Preservation Law. "With this declaration, we have compiled a list of 21 assets incorporated into Baja California's Cultural Heritage," reported Secretary of Culture Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos , who added that the State Government's policy of promoting, disseminating, and preserving cultural heritage is being followed to foster a sense of belonging, identity, and belonging. The decree highlights that the monument meets the characteristics under the category of structure, because it is a construction made for an aesthetic and symbolic purpose that was built in 1952, as part of the architecture of modernity in the fifties of the last century to remember the defenders of Baja California and the people who ventured from their places of origin to form the first towns and ranches and, therefore, pioneers.
