Tijuana, May 21, 2023. Over the past week, there has been an increase in applications for employment applications from the mobile population arriving at this border. The Haitian community is the one registering the most applications, followed by Nicaraguans and Cubans.
The head of the Municipal Directorate of Migrant Assistance (DMAM), Enrique Lucero Vázquez, explained that after the end of Title 42, there was a 100 percent increase in RFC appointment requests from people who already have job offers.
The official reported that during the month of May, 60 RFC applications were submitted to the Tax Administration Service (SAT), 44 of which were submitted during the last week, reflecting that Tijuana remains an option as a place of residence for the national and foreign migrant community.
Lucero Vázquez added that the 24th City Council continues its work to forge alliances with various labor sectors.
