The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) will premiere the series "Cannibal, Total Indignation" this Monday. It will air at 11 p.m. on its Justicia TV channel and on broadcast television. It seeks to highlight the normalization of gender-based violence and femicide in the country.
On his Twitter account, the Chief Justice of the SCJN stated in a short video that this program will change awareness in Mexico about femicides. "We all have to watch it to reflect together on our country."
Likewise, at the last monthly conference, she explained that "this is an effort by the Supreme Court to produce a series that generates reflection and a change in culture, a different perspective on the problem of femicides in Mexico, and that involves all authorities and society in taking measures to change this situation," which she said is a collective tragedy.
She indicated that in Mexico, "between 10 and 11 women are killed every day; this can't continue. This series isn't meant to provoke morbid curiosity. It's very well curated, very well made. It seeks to raise awareness, provoke reflection, provoke debate, and turn our attention to this phenomenon of so many women, so many Mexican girls, especially poor ones, who disappear and are killed every day without anyone searching for them."
