The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) has proposed postponing the implementation of the Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation Number 14 of 2025, which has sparked controversy among sports organizations.
"At the very least, the implementation of (Permenpora Regulation Number 14 of 2024) should be postponed," said the Secretary General of the Central KONI, Lukman Djajadikusuma, in a meeting to discuss the substance of Permenpora Number 14 of 2025, led by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat in Jakarta on Monday.
Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation Number 14 of 2024 concerning Management Standards for Sports Organizations in the Scope of High-Achieving Sports has drawn rejection and criticism from various sports organizations because it is considered to be in conflict with the Olympic Charter and the Sports Law, which has the potential to disrupt the independence of sports federations and could result in international sanctions.
