Tijuana, November 11.- “We lawyers feel like victims of the tax-collecting attitude of the Tijuana city government,” lamented José Hans Zamorano Dueñas , Baja California delegate of the National Coordinator of Lawyers of Mexico AC (Conamex) , in response to the constant towing of vehicles belonging to lawyers and citizens who go to the civil courts in the 20 de Noviembre neighborhood in Tijuana.
Due to limited parking capacity at the judiciary building and the lack of public parking in the area, approximately 500 people who attend court proceedings have to park their cars on public roads, which has become a revenue-raising activity for municipal authorities .
"We lawyers are sorry and demand that Mayor Montserrat Caballero and Secretary of Public Security Fernando Sánchez stop extorting lawyers with fundraising schemes and, if they require resources, that they adhere to the financial plans and strategies provided by the state and the federation, or that they demand them," the constitutional lawyer added.
High-impact crimes reported in civil and family courts
The Conamex delegate in the entity said that after the high-impact crimes that have occurred outside the building that houses civil and family courts, a positive reaction from the authorities in terms of security was expected , but they have only received harassment from municipal traffic motorized units.
