MediaTek said its latest chip, the Dimensity 9500, offers enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and improved power efficiency.
"The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 delivers breakthrough on-device AI, top-tier performance and power efficiency, and a suite of premium experiences that our partners can deploy to their users worldwide," said MediaTek Corporate Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Communication Business Unit JC Hsu in a press release.
MediaTek Dimensity 9500 adopts the third-generation All Big Core CPU design, combining one 4.21GHz ultra core , three premium cores , and four performance cores with UFS 4.1 quad-channel storage.
This means that the chip is designed for smartphones that are compatible with 5G network technology and comes with eight cores.
This design makes single-core performance up to 29 percent higher and multi-core scores up to 16 percent higher compared to the previous generation.
Ultra core performance consumes up to 55 percent less power at peak performance, giving users longer battery life.
With the platform's new cache and memory architecture, including industry-first support for 4-channel UFS4.1, data read/write speeds have been doubled, speeding up the loading of large AI models by up to 40 percent.
