Mexico City. Mass distribution of medications begins this week at IMSS Bienestar hospitals, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced.
“Hospitals are complex because each one is unique due to the different specialties they offer, unlike health centers. But today, the distribution begins with health routes at IMSS Bienestar hospitals.”
Last week, the distribution took place at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) health centers using the new land distribution mechanism.
From the National Palace, the president instructed the director of the ISSSTE, Martí Batres, to verify what is happening at the ISSSTE hospital in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, telling him that it is operating inadequately due to a lack of specialist doctors.
"We're going to review what's happening; we've made a lot of progress at ISSSTE; new ambulances have been purchased, workers' work hours have been increased from six to eight hours, a request they themselves made, and new workers are being hired."
