The newspaper reported: "Their closeness to the US president was the result of careful planning by Meta and OpenAI leaders. They sought to build rapprochement with Trump after his relationship with Elon Musk deteriorated this summer."

The newspaper added that Zuckerberg and Altman had privately contacted the White House seeking support to expand business opportunities.

For the first time since their dispute erupted, business mogul Elon Musk was seen exchanging words with President Donald Trump in the presidential box during the memorial service for right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.

Live footage from the event showed Musk briefly sitting next to Trump, speaking with him, shaking hands, and then leaving the venue.

Musk was also seen speaking with Republican politicians and waving to the crowds attending the memorial service.
