Technology company Meta is reportedly considering leveraging a competitor's artificial intelligence (AI) model to enhance the capabilities of its applications' AI features.
team leaders at the Meta Superintelligence Lab have reviewed the integration of Google Gemini into the Meta AI chatbot to help provide text-based and conversational solutions in answering user questions.
Additionally, Meta is said to have discussed using AI models from OpenAI to power Meta AI as well as other AI features in the Meta app ecosystem.
A Meta spokesperson stated that the company is taking a holistic approach to building the best AI products, including through collaborations with other companies, while continuing to develop its own AI models.
