Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has filed a lawsuit against a former employee who allegedly leaked confidential company information.
lawsuit filed earlier this week xAI accused a former employee named Xuechen Li of stealing the company's confidential information and trade secrets before joining OpenAI.
Elon Musk's company also accused Li of copying documents from xAI's laptop to at least one of his personal devices.
According to the lawsuit, Li has stolen cutting-edge AI technology with features superior to those offered by ChatGPT and other competing products.
"This confidential information could yield a potential advantage for competing companies in the AI market and could save OpenAI and other competitors billions of dollars in years of R&D and engineering effort," xAI said in the lawsuit.
In addition, xAI accused Li of attempting to cover up his actions by, among other things, changing file names, compressing documents before transferring them to personal devices, and deleting browser history.
