Italian-Brazilian rider Franco Morbidelli has officially extended his contract with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team for MotoGP 2026, after his debut season with the Tavullia-based team was immediately marked by a podium finish.
"I feel very comfortable here and have a great relationship with every member of the team. It will be a pleasure to continue racing with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team next year," Morbidelli said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team has confirmed that its rider line-up for next season will remain solid, with Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio both riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP.
This contract extension strengthens the bond between the team and Morbidelli, who has been part of the VR46 Riders Academy since the beginning.
Morbidelli previously became the first rider from the academy project to win the Moto2 world title in 2017. After seven seasons competing in MotoGP with three wins, six podiums, and one runner-up title in 2020, he joined Pertamina Enduro VR46 in 2025.
