Morena's BC Senate candidacy complicated by TEPJF decision

Tijuana, February 10.- In a unanimous decision, the Guadalajara Regional Chamber, part of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch, revoked a ruling of inadmissibility issued by the National Commission for Honesty and Justice of Morena (Morena), regarding a complaint filed by Representative Evangelina Moreno Guerra regarding the selection of Senate candidates.

In the public session of the Guadalajara Chamber, held on February 8, the judges discussed several issues related to the electoral process in several states, including Baja California.

Among the issues discussed in Baja California was the confirmation of a ruling by the Electoral Court of the State of Baja California regarding a challenge filed by the Labor Party against the guidelines for the nomination of candidates from indigenous peoples or communities.

In the case of the ruling by the Morena National Commission for the Judiciary (CNHJ), Representative Evangelina Moreno Guerra filed a challenge to the Senate candidate selection process. However, the party ruled that the complaint was inadmissible due to the alleged lack of the document the legislator was requesting.

In this regard, the Guadalajara Chamber detailed in its ruling that the Morena-led National Commission for Justice (CHJN) did not present any documentary support for its decision, despite the fact that the federal legislator did present a series of documents, photographs, and evidence supporting her accusations.

They also explained that in order for the party organization to conclude that the reported events did not exist, they had to request reports related to the complaint from the relevant bodies (the National Electoral Institute and the State Attorney General's Office).
