Neither Sheinbaum nor Gálvez committed plagiarism in their theses, UNAM concludes.

Tijuana, November 3. The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) concluded that presidential candidates Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz did not commit plagiarism in their thesis.

In a press release, he announced that both these projects had been reviewed. In Galvez's case, the president of the Faculty of Engineering's Technical Council announced that "it fulfills the purpose of the degree program with which he graduated," but at the same time asked him to send clarifications on missing citations in his professional report.

Regarding Sheinbaum, the bulletin indicates that "the Rector's Office requested an initial opinion from the General Directorate of Libraries and Digital Information Services—as the body with the appropriate technical tools to analyze these cases—on the possible similarities between her bachelor's thesis and other texts" and clarified that "no similarities or major omissions were found in the recognition of other authors in the analyzed thesis."
