The opposition parties PAN, PRI, and PRD yesterday took the regulatory steps within their organizations to approve a method for selecting their joint presidential candidate. According to data collected, the process will run parallel to that of Morena and its allies, as both blocs will select their candidate in the first week of September.
While on the one hand, the winning candidate will be named national coordinator for the defense of the Fourth Transformation, on the other, following a primary election, the person responsible for building the Broad Opposition Front will be designated.
This nomenclature is explained by the fact that pre-campaigns don't officially begin until the third week of November, and before that date, candidates cannot make calls to vote or lead any other similar activity, as they could be sanctioned for early pre-campaign and campaign activities.

A PAN councilor summarized the opposition's strategy: "We must seek fairness in the facts, because if we don't do something about Morena's strategy, when the legal race begins, we'll be given a good conduct certificate, but we'll have wasted valuable time."
In the blue and white party , the leadership criticized the electoral authority for an alleged lax stance toward Morena's bottle caps , but at the same time outlined its own strategy, similar in timing and form to what they have criticized.
Adriana Dávila (PAN) said at the end of a citizen forum that the INE should be asked to organize this internal process because otherwise there will be significant risk. "If what we're demanding is that López Obrador stop violating the law, what we can't do is replicate what we're criticizing."
Official information on the method used by the parties opposed to the 4T will be released tomorrow, although councilors confirmed progress.
