Protection of the cultural heritage of indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples and communities

 The Senate approved a law guaranteeing the rights of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples and communities to their cultural heritage. 

It regulates the use, exploitation, marketing and industrialization, by third parties, of its textiles, designs and creative expressions. 

It sanctions the misappropriation and unauthorized use of ancestral knowledge, traditions, and artistic expressions. It was published in January 2022.
