Saudi Arabia announces an international coalition to fund the Palestinian Authority, while Egypt says it is open to deploying international forces in Gaza.

This came at a press conference in New York attended by foreign ministers from Arab and European countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Norway, and Spain, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Bin Farhan said, "I announce the launch of an emergency international coalition to directly fund the Palestinian Authority, with a number of important partners."

In this context, the Saudi minister revealed that the Kingdom will provide $90 million in funding to the Palestinian Authority, noting that there is "Arab consensus that the fate of Gaza is unified with the fate of the West Bank under the administration of the Palestinian Authority."

For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty said at the conference: "We are open to deploying international forces in Gaza pursuant to a UN Security Council resolution to assist the Palestinian Authority in administering the Strip."

Abdel-Ati indicated that "there is consensus on a temporary Palestinian administration of the Gaza Strip without the participation of the factions," but he did not provide further details.

"International consensus"

Meanwhile, the International Coalition for a Two-State Solution affirmed in a statement that there is international consensus on implementing this solution as the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

The coalition explained that "the only obstacle to implementing the two-state solution is the extremist position of the Israeli government, which, through its Prime Minister (Benjamin Netanyahu), declares that it will not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state."

The statement continued: "When Netanyahu says he will not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state, he is saying he will not allow the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace because there is no alternative to the two-state solution."

The statement pointed out that "all of the Israeli Prime Minister's actions prevent the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace, including the war of extermination in Gaza, the expansion of settlements and the confiscation of land in the West Bank, in addition to his aggression against Syria and the sowing of discord there, as well as his aggression against Lebanon."

He continued: "We in the Arab-Islamic group want a just peace, and we know that the path to a just peace is an independent Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil, living in security and peace alongside Israel."

The coalition affirmed its "readiness to achieve a peace that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people, ensures Israel's security and acceptance in the region, and protects the region from the disastrous consequences of Israeli aggression, which the international community must take practical action to curb before it is too late."

Last September, Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the "International Coalition to Implement the Two-State Solution," and its first meeting was held in Riyadh in late October.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, Sigrid Kaag, and more than 35 countrie
