Turkish basketball star Alperen Sengun made history at FIBA EuroBasket 2025, becoming the youngest player to record a triple-double in the tournament's history.
According to the FIBA website on Wednesday, the 23-year-old player performed brilliantly when he led Türkiye to defeat Poland 91-77 in the quarterfinal match.
Sengun recorded 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, which led to him winning the player of the game title.
Sengun became the fifth player to record a triple-double at EuroBasket, as well as the youngest among the list of big names such as Luka Doncic, Mateusz Ponitka, Andrei Mandache, and Toni Kukoc.
Doncic also recorded a triple-double in this year's tournament, as Slovenia defeated Belgium 86-69. The Los Angeles Lakers NBA star scored 26 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.
Sengun's achievement feels even more special after nearly achieving a triple-double in his previous two matches.
In the match against the Czech Republic, he finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. Meanwhile, in the group-stage decider against Nikola Jokic's Serbia, Sengun recorded 28 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.
