This move comes as part of a series of measures taken by Ljubljana against Israel, including an arms embargo imposed in August and a ban on the import of goods produced in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel.
Slovenia, a member of the European Union, recognized the state of Palestine last year.
In recent days, 11 countries have recognized the State of Palestine: Britain, Canada, Australia, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, Andorra, France, Malta, Monaco, and San Marino. This brings the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine to 159 out of 193 UN member states, according to the Palestinian News Agency, WAFA.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 65,502 martyrs and 167,376 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
