Sony releases app to help parents monitor their children while playing PS

Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched the PlayStation Family app for iOS and Android devices to make it easier for parents to monitor their children's activities while playing on PlayStation (PS) consoles.

the application allows parents to monitor their children's gaming activities in real time , including displaying activity reports and notifications of games being played.

With the support of the application, parents can also approve or reject requests for additional play time and set play time limits each day of the week.

Daily and weekly reports within the app let parents know how much time their child spends on the console and which games they play most often.

In addition, there is a content filter feature to help parents regulate access according to their child's age.

Sony says there are presets in the app that automatically apply recommended settings for different age groups and these settings can be customized for each child.

Parents can also manage privacy, manage access to social features, and monitor their children's spending activities by adding funds, viewing balances, and setting monthly spending limits.
