The Ministry of Creative Economy is opening up collaboration opportunities for the development of domestic game products and supporting efforts to increase their market reach.
While receiving an audience with representatives of Foolball Board Game creators at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar conveyed the importance of collaboration to expand market reach and grow a new generation of board game creators and fans in Indonesia.
"We are opening up collaboration opportunities so that gaming products like Foolball can grow even further. With the right ecosystem support, board games can become a creative medium that is increasingly accessible to Indonesian youth," he said, as quoted in a ministry press release on Thursday.
He said that board games, which are now increasingly popular with the public, could be increased in popularity by introducing new characters that could reach a wider audience.
"Funny characters can be a unique selling point for reaching a wider market. And for fans who genuinely enjoy playing soccer, a league could be created so they can experience the thrill of playing without having to go to the field," he said.
Foolball Board Game is a board game for all ages that combines strategy, skill, and the excitement of a soccer game.
Mistara Pandu, the creator of the Foolball Board Game, hopes that board games can be an alternative for children and teenagers to enjoy fun and healthier games.
"We want Foolball to be a healthy, interactive, and fun game," he said.
"More than that, we hope this board game can be a positive option for children to create and interact without having to be constantly glued to a screen," he added.
The Ministry of Creative Economy supports efforts to develop creative products such as Foolball Board Games and strengthen the gaming business subsector.
