South Korea's U-23 national team coach Lee Min-sung is targeting his team to become champions in the seventh edition of the U-23 Asian Cup to be played in Saudi Arabia in January next year.
Min-sung said this after his team qualified from the qualifying round of Group J, when they became group champions with a perfect nine points.
"Of course, we are targeting to win the championship," Min-sung said at a press conference after his team beat Indonesia 1-0 in their final Group J match at Gelora Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo on Tuesday.
"Next, we also want to target the 2026 Asian Games (in Nagoya, Japan). So, we will prepare for our first tournament," he said.
South Korea has never missed a single appearance in the previous six editions of the U-23 Asian Cup finals, since its inaugural tournament in 2013.
