The Constitutional Court rejected the formal judicial review of Law Number 3 of 2025 concerning Amendments to Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Armed Forces (UU TNI) because all the arguments in the petition were not proven.
The Constitutional Court rejected the petition of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI), the Participatory Community Initiative Association for Just Transition (Imparsial), the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence Association (KontraS), and activist Inayah WD Rahman in Case Number 81/PUU-XXIII/2025.
"Rejecting the applications of applicants I to IV in their entirety," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo during the verdict pronouncement hearing in the Plenary Courtroom of the Constitutional Court.
The case was originally filed by an activist who also manages Fatiah Maulidiyanty's household and a student named Eva Nurcahyani. However, the Court declared both applicants to have no legal standing.
"Declaring that applications V and VI are unacceptable," added Suhartoyo.
The Court stated that the applicants' argument regarding the planned revision of the TNI Law in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program was carried out in violation of procedures and was legally baseless.
