Tijuana, October 17.- The current panorama of French cinema featured in the 26th edition of the French Film Tour will return to the Carlos Monsiváis Hall of the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut), an institution of the federal Ministry of Culture, from October 20 to 28.
The cinema that filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard, Agnès Varda, François Truffaut, Jacques Rivette, Jean Renoir, and Robert Bresson brought to the world has evolved and become a showcase for visually striking and compelling film narratives.
The film series will kick off on Thursday the 20th with Haute Couture, screenings at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Sylvie Ohayon directs this film in which Esther, head seamstress at the Dior atelier, decides to take care of Jade, the repentant woman who stole her purse and returned it to her, benevolently passing on her skills in the dressmaking trade.
The romantic comedy Chronicle of a Passing Relationship, directed by Emmanuel Mouret, is the story of a single mother and a married man who become lovers, committed to seeing each other just for fun. This beautiful story, both bold and tender, which speaks to us of complicity and love, will be screened on Friday the 21st, at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.
The World According to Pierre by Clovis Cornillac tells the story of Pierre, who magically fades his color while trying to unravel the mystery of his origins. This fantasy comedy will be shown on Sunday the 23rd at 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Cédric Klapisch directs In Motion, a film that portrays Élise, a 26-year-old promising classical ballet dancer who is injured during a performance and learns she will never be able to dance again. It will be shown on Tuesday the 25th at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
