Communication and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid said that as many as 2,333 villages in Indonesia do not yet have internet connections, so collaboration between various parties is needed to overcome this problem.
"We believe this figure is a reasonable target if we all join hands to complete this homework together," said Meutya while leading the ceremony celebrating the 80th Postel Service Day in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday.
Meutya also mentioned that 2,017 villages currently lack 4G service. This also applies to 316 villages, the majority of which are non-residential farmlands.
He views this challenge as a shared responsibility to increase Indonesia's connectivity rate to 80 percent. He believes the struggle to build connectivity isn't difficult.
