The spacecraft's arrival at the ISS was delayed due to technical problems

. NASA and US aerospace technology company Northrop Grumman have delayed the arrival of a cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) due to a technical issue with its main engine, the space agency confirmed.

Northrop Grumman's upgraded Cygnus XL spacecraft was originally scheduled to arrive at the ISS at 6:35 a.m. Eastern. But NASA said the spacecraft's main engine shut down earlier than planned Tuesday morning during two burns designed to raise its orbit for a rendezvous with the ISS.

As a result, its arrival has been postponed, with a new arrival date and time currently being evaluated. Flight controllers are now evaluating alternative burn plans to complete the orbit adjustment.

NASA said all other systems on the spacecraft were operating normally.

The Cygnus XL was launched on Sunday (14/9) at 6:11 p.m. Eastern Time (5:11 a.m. WIB the following day) using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, United States.

The mission, which is the 23rd resupply mission contracted by Northrop Grumman for NASA, is planned to deliver about 11,000 pounds of scientific research and cargo to the orbiting laboratory.
